About Slamball
A brief history
Slamball was created by Mason Gordon (Who currently plays for the Diablos).
The first prototype Slamball half court first only had one trampoline.
After much testing, the development moved to a youth center in downtown Los Angeles where the first full Slamball court was constructed - but this time there would be two trampolines at each end of the court.
It wasn't until later that another two trampolines, one on either side of the initial two were added. Thus giving the four trampolines under each basket that we know today.
In the summer of 2002 the first Slamball season got underway. The Bouncers, Diablos, Mob, Rumble, Slashers and Steal would be
the six teams to compete for the first ever championship (Rumble would be the team to prevail).
August the 3rd 2002 saw the first of six Slamball games to be broadcast of the inaugural season of Slamball. These Slamball games were re-run many times, and each time they did so the popularity of the sport grew - So much so that by December of 2002 a second season was given the go-ahead. This second season would see a total of 13 games televised with another two teams also added to the proceedings. The Bandits and the Riders took the number of competing teams to eight, with the latter going on to finish the season triumphant.
